Make a name you can hear.
A ship name is a nickname for a pairing. This workshop joins pieces of your names, shows where every piece comes from, and lets you change the join. You decide whether the result sounds right.
Start with familiar names.
Use first names, surnames or nicknames. For a concept name, choose a symbol or motif for each character instead.
Find a promising join.
Compare the colored pieces. Choose “Adjust the join” to keep a beginning or ending from each name, change its length, or reverse the order.
Say your shortlist aloud.
Save a few options before choosing. Copy a name, download a card or send the exact blend to someone who should have a say.
Milo + Luna can become Miluna.
luna from Luna
Keeping two letters from Milo and all four from Luna makes one possible nickname. Lunilo uses a different order and balance. Neither is a “correct answer”; try both in a sentence and choose what feels natural.

How can I create a ship name?
Enter two names, generate a shortlist, and say a few options aloud. If a promising name has an awkward join, choose Adjust the join to change the beginning or ending used from each source. For Milo and Luna, Mi + luna makes Miluna; Lun + ilo makes Lunilo.

How are fandom ship names made?
Some blend character names; others refer to a shared scene, a motif, an occupation or a joke. Look for an existing community label before introducing a new one. Our Name blends mode combines letters, while Concept names combines symbols you choose yourself.

Can AI create good ship names?
AI can propose candidates, but a convincing explanation does not establish a name’s meaning or community acceptance. This generator uses local letter and word combinations instead. You supply the names or motifs, check the result in context, and choose what fits.

How do I make a ship name without combining personal names?
Pick one concrete symbol for each character: a flower, an object, a job or a recurring theme. Open Concept names and enter those words. Moon and Ember can become MoonEmber or EmberMoon. The connection should come from your characters; the tool does not invent their backstory.

What if none of the name combinations sounds right?
Try surnames or familiar nicknames, then change one join at a time. You can keep the beginning of both sources instead of forcing a beginning-and-ending blend. If the results still feel wrong, use a concept name or keep both full names visible.

Does the order of names in a ship name matter?
It can carry meaning in some communities, while other groups choose an order for sound or familiarity. Check the convention where you will use the name. In this tool, order only controls the arrangement of pieces; it does not assign relationship roles. Choose Keep entered order when that matters to you.
