Names and results

The generator processes the names you type in your browser. It does not upload those inputs to a server. We do not require an account, and we do not run advertising scripts.

Saved favorites

If you save a favorite, its source names and letter selections are stored in this browser's local storage. They stay until you remove them, clear the shortlist or clear browser data. They are not synchronized across devices. Exporting a shortlist creates a text file on your device.

Sharing

A result link includes your source names and selected letters in the part of the URL after the # symbol. Anyone with the complete link can read those names. Share only names you are comfortable disclosing. A downloaded card also contains your source names.

Using an external sharing service, such as X, sends the link to that service when you choose to share it. Its own privacy rules then apply. Merely generating a name does not post anything.

Page delivery

A hosting provider may process routine connection information, such as an IP address and the requested page, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. The generator does not attach your typed names to those page requests.

Analytics and your choice

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page use and improve the tool. Before you allow analytics, Google receives limited cookieless measurements under denied consent. If you allow analytics, it may set analytics cookies and receive usage events such as generation, copying, downloads, section views and time spent. We do not include entered names, source words, saved results, or URL query strings and fragments in analytics events.

Your analytics choice is stored in this browser. Open Analytics settings in the footer to change it. Rejecting after allowing stops detailed usage events and removes analytics cookies accessible to this site. Limited cookieless measurement may continue. With analytics allowed, a short-lived record of the page path and usage counters may be kept in this tab to complete a navigation event. It contains no entered names and is discarded on the next page or after 30 seconds. This is separate from your local shortlist.

Your controls

Use “Clear shortlist” to remove saved names from this browser. Use “Clear” to empty the current inputs. Deleting a downloaded file or a message you shared must be done in the device or service where you saved it.
